I went bowling yesterday, visited the thrift stores to no avail, stopped by the music store and oogled at the nice deals which I could not take advantage of, and rent a few movies- Shawshank Redemption, Princess Mononoke, and Donnie Darko. I had seen Shawshank Redemption already; it was good again. Princess Mononoke is a popular anime film, and the first full length one I'd seen. It wasn't bad, but not exceptional on my list either. As for Donnie Darko, it was great. It was surrealistic, funny, and contemplative all at once. And it featured the actor from Bubble Boy. Odd and wonderful indeed.
