I'm not sure if it should bother me, but some companies are getting better and better at choosing music for their commercials. HP is one example. Apparently they hired a media firm to find every song that mentioned photographs or pictures for their new ad campaign, and they seem to have come up with some good numbers -- The Robins' "Out Of The Picture", The Kinks' "Picture Book", and their latest and probably most unusual number, The Speedies' "Let Me Take Your Photo". The Speedies were one of many less successful acts of the 1970's NY scene, playing alongside the likes of Television, Richard Hell & The Voidoids, and Blondie, but never able to get record deal. They released a few singles in their day, and have been featured in a number of power-pop compilations, but only very recently have they had a proper record out. But enough talk, here's the song.
